Western Scotland and Northern Ireland will begin the day cloudy and wet. Through the afternoon, drier and brighter conditions will gradually spread eastwards, with any rain soon clearing. Highs reaching 28 to 29C across much of England, locally 31C in the southeast, around 25C across parts of Scotland, and nearer 20C over Ireland.
