Thu Dec 11: Friday A damp start to Friday morning across eastern parts of the Midlands, the home counties and parts of East Anglia as a weak front edges, eastwards. Dry weather across more northern and western parts of England and Wales, but rather cloudy. Bright for Scotland, the best sunshine in the east, and a fair start in Ireland too. This afternoon tends to stay rather cloudy for much of England and Wales, but will be mostly dry. Some showers in western Scotland where the south-west wind will be strong. Ireland will be staying dry with sunny spells. Highs at 9 to 12C.
