Wed May 13: Wednesday A showery day ahead. Sunny spells between the showers at first this morning but thicker cloud and more persistent rain in western and southern Scotland. Bands of heavy showers passing south, together with a strong northwest wind which will be making it feel cold. Probably fewer showers in northern and eastern Scotland this afternoon. Elsewhere the heavy continue, thundery at times. Highs at 8C in northern Scotland, 12C in southern England.
