Tue Mar 24: Wednesday A much colder and windy morning for Wednesday across most of the country. That will be sunny spells, but they're also going to be showers with most of these across northern and western areas. The showers will be heavy at times and there is a risk of hail and thunder, as well as snow over the hills of Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland. Further showers this afternoon, with cloudy skies, across much of Scotland, northern and central England are Shari bands of sleet, rain and hail spread south. Probably dryer in southern Wales and Southwest England but staying windy and cold. Further showers in Ireland. Highs at 5 to 8C but feeling much colder in the wind.
