during the day brings a band of persistent rain, some heavier bursts,
most prolonged over central-southeastern counties into the afternoon,
only clearing East Anglia later in the day. Rain breaking up in the
west with skies brightening, sunny spells develop, but a few brief
showers possible. More generally showery for Scotland and Ireland,
some heavier showers into the afternoon, chance of local thunder,
and rain increasing in the west later. Varied west-southwest winds.
Highs of 13 to 15C Scotland and Ireland, to 18C southeast England.
