Friday More hot sunshine for Portugal, Spain, and the western Mediterranean islands. Italy is hot and sunny, a few scattered showers in the far south. Dry and fine for the Balkan States. Some afternoon showers over mainland Greece and west Türkiye, but otherwise fine with plentiful sunshine. Windy from the Low Countries across northern Germany and into Poland. Showers and extended spells of heavy rain will drift into these areas; Poland starts driest, but becomes increasingly wet with thundery downpours. A little rain in north France, but dry and fine elsewhere. A little early cloud in Czechia and Slovakia with some spotty rain, this clearing for a sunny afternoon. Switzerland, Austria, and Hungary and dry and fine. A little rain in Ukraine, Romania, and Bulgaria, but otherwise largely sunny. Heavy thundery rain in Denmark breaks into blustery showers. The Baltic States will see frequent heavy showers, with this area of rain over Denmark passing into the Baltic States later in the d ay with thunderstorms and strong wind. Some of this heavy rain will pass across southern Sweden. The rest of Sweden, as well as Norway and Finland, will see scattered showers, a few areas seeing more frequent clusters, but also plenty of bright spells around.
