Fri Jan 02: Friday Cold on Friday with morning frosts for many, widespread north. Wintry showers affecting northern and eastern coastal areas, as well as feeding into the Irish Sea and Welsh coasts. Showers will be wintry, snowy where reaching further inland with accumulations in northern Scotland. Further south and well inland, conditions will be mostly dry and sunny. Highs of 1C in the north and 3C in the south, locally up to 6C in southwest coastal areas; feeling chilly in a brisk northerly wind.
