Mon Jan 12: Monday A mild and breezy start to Monday morning for much of the British Isles. Still cool in parts of Scotland though, especially where snow cover remains. Lots of cloud and mist with hill fog, mostly in the west and south, and it is here where there will be some showers. Some brighter spells developing across northern England and Scotland mid morning. However, an area of showery rain quickly reaching Wales, northwest and southwest England, spreading into the Midlands and parts of northeast England late morning and early afternoon. Further rain and gales arriving in western Scotland too. Tops at 7C in northern Scotland, 11C in southern England.
