Wed Aug 19: Thursday The area of low pressure sinks south through Thursday and will bring heavy and thundry showers or longer spells of rain across much of northern England, the Midlands and Wales, eventually slipping into East Anglia and southern England. Sunshine and showers across Scotland spreading to northern England in the afternoon. Brighter across Southwest England, although even here could see an occasional shower. Scattered showers in Ireland. Highs at 23C in southeast England but 17C in central Wales and northern England as well as Ireland, 15 or 16C in Scotland.
