Dry start, rain west later
A cool day
Tue Jan 13: Wednesday A ridge of high pressure builds over the country this morning.
This is going to lead to a dry start to the day with sunny spells,
best in central and eastern England. Broken cloud further north and
west with winds increasing in western Ireland as rain arrives. This
afternoon sees the rain becoming more persistent in Ireland, reaching
western England and western Wales by dark. Rain too into western Scotland.
Drier in central and eastern England but the risk of some rain along
southern coasts later. Wind west with highs at 5 to 7C so feeling
cooler than recent days.
